my finished game...

well for all those who are willing to play my game you are able to find it on the W drive on the school computer. you then go to 9ist and then T4 project. i've called it cat in the maze and it's also got my name. if you can't get to a school computer come and get the game off my USB. once you have played my game please do the polls on my blog for some feedback. i would really appreciate it. my blog url is: http://firedhippo.blogspot.com/

assignment

well at the moment i have the basics for the maze idea however at the moment i can't get the backgrond to change when the cat reaches the end and it's really annoying me. also i can't figure out how to change the background when the timer runs out. it could get hard to make a more challenging maze as the screen isn't very large so the sprite would have to be tiny. i'm in a pickle here but i don't have another idea so i WILL figure these problems out. here is a picture of the stage so far.
oh wait! maybe i don't have to change the background. i could just make the timer go faster. no it wouldn't be much of a challenge then because the person could just memorise the maze.
hmmm... maybe another idea i could do is a shooting game where something bad pops up and you have to shoot it but there are also good somethings and you can't shoot them and if you do then you lose a life. it could work.
or i could do a game like plummit on not doppler.com. plummit is where there are blocks moving up the screen and you are a person on those blocks and you can't touch the top of the screen so you have to run to jump through the gaps in the blocks and the blocks keep moving faster and faster.

scratch- suprise button

a good sprite for this tutorial is drum 1 from the things folder. change the name of the sprite to something like 'drum' in the grey rectangle above the scripts, costumes and sounds tabs. copy the below picture.

idea for assignment

i've been procrastinating a lot by trying to figure out what idea i should use for my assignment and the one i am using is a maze game. you have to use the arrow keys to guide a cat through a maze.

helpful tips

you can duplicate a code into another sprite just by dragging it onto the picture of the sprite underneath the screen.
you can change the background by clicking stage next to the picture of hte sprite underneath the screen and the nedit or import.
if you don't want the sprite to rotate when it hits the edge of the screen you click the middle button next to the picture of the sprite on top of the tabs.

scratch- keep score

it gets kinda complicated with all the different buttons but its fun to watch. with the orange button (variables) you go to the variables button and select 'make a variable' and you call it score. then re-create this picture and watch the fun unfold.

scratch- interactive whirl

a good sprite for this one is squirrel 1. in the purple button click the drop down menu and get whirl then get the mouse X thing from sensing. this is really cool.
