A Problem With Scrap Blog

if I'm working on scrap blog at the same time as Laura and my page 2 is blank and her page 1 is blank and if Laura publishes last then the page 1 will become blank because it over-rides. as sir suggested we are going to have 2 separate scrap blogs with the one account and have a page full of links which link to pages on one person's scrap blog and the partner's scrap blog as well.

CPU or microprocessor

a CPU is a complete computer engine on a single chip, it's where the calculations take place. the first CPU was called the Intel 4004 and it was introduced in 1971.
The speed of the CPU has increased dramatically. in 1974 the clock speed was 2 MHz which is 2 million cycles per second and in 2004 the clock speed increased to 3.6 GHz which is 3.6 billion cycles per second.
according to dictionary.com MIP's measure the computer and is 1 million instructoins per second.
a duel core processor is a CPU that has 2 execution cores with one chip. multitasking is when you have different programmes running at the same time. a duel core processor is really good for multitasking because each of the execution cores are independent so the operating system has enough resources to handle the different tasks.
the Intel Atom Processor uses less power, is really small but it allows a "big internet experience" which is good for people who use their mobile phones to go on the internet unlike the traditional way of using the computer.

The things Laura and I are Researching

Out of the blue, Laura is doing number one which is computer displays and I am doing number six which is handheld multimedia devices. Out of the pink, Laura is doing number seven which is piracy and copyright while I am doing number nine which is social networking. Out of the yellow, Laura is doing number sixteen which is types of ports and I am doing number fourteen which is graphics cards. Out of the green, Laura is doing number eighteen which is blue tooth while I am doing number twenty which is wifi.
Also Laura and I have chosen to use scrap blog for our assignment because it's easy to use and easy to personalise.

Research for ZoHo notebook

positives are that it's very easy to add videos, audio, images, text, all that stuff. it's free, there's a good menu system with the different pages which you can title easily and you can change the title of the whole book, we can both sign in and edit at the same time and you can publish it easily. on the bad side you can't personalise it very much/ make it fancy. here is a screen shot:

Research on Pageflakes

well a flake is a application that you drag onto your page to personalise it. some flakes i've got are a mini blog, word of the day, sticky note and horoscope. here is a screen shot:
some positives about pageflakes are that both Laura and I are able to login on seperate computers, we can type information up easily, it's free, it's very straight forward, there are a large number of flakes we can use to personalise and present the information and we can create different pages to organise and store the different types of information we are presenting. some things that are negative about the page is that we can't figure out how to put videos on it, we can't put the flakes anywhere we want on the page (it's all in columns and rows) and if you use the blog flake it only shows part of the information and you have to click on a button to be able to read all of the information.

according to the website a pagecast is publishing your page flake so others can see it and you can show everyone or just a private group.

we could use the pagecast in the context of this project to inform everybody and sir about the topics we are going to research.

Research for Protopage

flakes have to be columns but when you're using protopage you can change the settings so you can put the widget anywhere you want.

a widget is an application that you put on your page to make it personalised. the purpose of the tabs is to separate the different bits of information and widgets from each other. to create and edit new tabs is really easy, even i can do it without asking anyone how to do it.
Protopage could be used to help with our project because we could create a new tab for each topic and write the information in sticky notes. we are able to add photos but i haven't figured out how to add video or audio yet.

here is a screen shot:

Some positives are that it's free, there are tabs that allow us to organise the information in a menu type thing, there are different ways to type up the information, it's personalised easily, we can change the title of the tabs and sticky notes and you can add text underneath pictures to explain what it is. some negatives are that i can't figure out how to add video and when Laura and i tried to see if we can both log in at the same time Laura couldn't get on and when i tried at home i also couldn't get on so i think we have to be logged onto the computer at school using my username and password to work on the page (although I'm not positive).
